The RoadMap for 2025
Well, 2024 is coming to an end and, as promised in the last article, I would like to give you a brief overview of how things are going with my individual projects after the long forced break and how things stand before the new year begins. I will also try to explain my personal roadmap for the first half of 2025 to you.
Let’s start with the RoadMap for 2025.
The Wood Guide
After my four-part “Glass Guide” was so well received by you this year, I am planning another multi-part guide on the subject of “wood” for the first half of the year. Similar to the “Glass Guide”, I will explain what is important for realistic wood materials and textures. I will show you as best as I can what you should consider and how you can get the most realism out of it. Since I work not only with 3ds Max but also with Maya and Blender as well as Vray, Corona, Cycles and Arnold, I will make this guide program-independent so that every aspiring 3D artist can benefit from it. So you can look forward to a little taster, which you can see here with my little fruit wooden box.
If you haven’t read my four-part “Glass Guide” yet, you can access the individual articles here.
My YouTube-Channel
I don’t know exactly now, but I’ve been on YouTube since 2006 and in all these years I haven’t managed to establish a proper channel. That should change in the coming year. I want to build a channel for you that is primarily focused on 3D art. I’m not interested in high numbers of followers, I’m way past that. But it should be a solid channel where I will create tutorials as well as tips and tricks for Blender, 3ds Max or Maya. I also want to show you various skills, dive a little deeper with you into individual render engines and introduce you to the topic of architectural visualization. In general, it should be a small, fine place not only for aspiring, but also for advanced 3D-Artists.

The Projects
Classic Cafe – Project
As some of you know, my mother was diagnosed with cancer at the beginning of the project and since I took intensive care of my mother for the last six months until her recent death, I didn’t have the time or the headspace for this project. In the meantime, I’m not even sure if the response will be high here. I would rather put my time and energy into my YouTube channel, because the “Classic Cafe – Project” would involve a lot of paperwork. Through my successful “Glass Guide” I heard, and also through your comments, that you really appreciated the fact that I wrote the individual articles and didn’t just create various videos like so many others. Don’t get me wrong, I really like writing, but this project would involve so much paperwork that it could become a book. In addition, there would be pictures, screenshots and other important things, so that the whole thing would probably get out of hand. Since the response was not particularly overwhelming at the beginning, I think it would be best to put this project on hold for the time being. If, contrary to expectations, there is suddenly a lot of interest, please contact me and I will continue this project.

Parametric ArchViz with Blender
That much is certain: it will definitely continue, if only because I know that some people are eagerly awaiting it. It also remains the case that it will be a three-part volume in the form of an e-book that I will offer for free download here on my site. The three volumes will each have about 80 to 150 pages, as this topic is quite extensive, as you can imagine. At the moment I am still at volume one but almost finished. As soon as all three volumes are finished, I will publish them and you can download them here for free without email or similar. It may well be that as soon as the first volume is finished, I will make it available to you earlier than planned, or at least to my most loyal followers.
